About The Teachers:

Shari Muller-Ho, based in Seattle, is currently Principal Flute of several Seattle area orchestras including Orchestra Seattle, the Rainier Symphony Orchestra, and the Northwest Mahler Orchestra. She has also held Principal Flute positions with the Northwest Symphony and the Federal Way Symphony orchestras. She is featured as a repeat soloist with several orchestras in the Seattle area and has also appeared as soloist with orchestras throughout the Western United States. Ms. Muller-Ho appears regularly as a recitalist in Seattle and the greater Pacific Northwest area, and has performed in Europe, China, and Hong Kong. From 2003-2008 Ms. Muller-Ho served as a Performing Artist for the Suisse Global Artistic Foundation.

Ms. Muller-Ho is a native of St. Paul, Minnesota. She holds a Master of Music degree in Flute Performance from the University of Northern Colorado, pursued Post-Bac studies in Piano and Music Composition at the University of Montana, served on the faculty of Western Michigan University, and pursued doctoral studies in Flute Performance at the University of Washington.  

In addition to orchestral and solo/chamber music performance, Ms. Muller-Ho freelances and teaches flute and piano in Seattle and judges music competitions across the Western United States. Former teachers/master classes include Felix Skowronek, Eric Hoover, Bernard Goldberg, Carol Wincenc, and Jim Walker. Ms. Muller-Ho studied piano at the University of Montana with Steven Hesla and studied music composition with Dr. Donald Johnston and Dr. Patrick Williams.  She was the first woman in that institution's history to earn the prestigious Lowndes Maury Award for Music Composition.

Professional Affiliations:  National Flute Association, MENC (The National Association for Music Education)

Manchung Ho holds an Advanced Performer's Diploma in Violin Performance from the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts and a Master of Music degree in Violin Performance from the University of Northern Colorado.  He has performed in a number of orchestras and chamber music ensembles in Hong Kong and the United States prior to his arrival in Seattle, including First Violin in the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, the Missoula Symphony Orchestra and the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra.  Mr. Ho is highly active as a freelance musician and violin and viola instructor in the greater Seattle area.  He currently performs with Orchestra Seattle, the Northwest Mahler Orchestra, and various chamber music ensembles.

Mr. Ho has over 25 years experience teaching private lessons, group lessons, and chamber music coaching.  His love of teaching and care for his students' success are evidenced by the numerous achievements and affectionate regard his students have for their teacher.
